Do you know what a cold rolled flange is?

Cold rolled flange is a kind of flange commonly used in pipeline connection, also known as cold rolled flange. Compared with forged flanges, its manufacturing cost is lower, but its strength and sealing performance are not inferior to forged flanges. Cold rolled flanges can be applied to various types of flanges, including plate flanges, butt welding flanges, threaded flanges, etc. Therefore, it is widely used in various industrial and civil piping systems.

Cold rolled flanges are suitable for various types of pipeline connections, including petrochemical, shipbuilding, water treatment, heating and ventilation, urban water supply and other fields. The advantages of cold rolled flange manufacturing are its simple process, low cost, and applicable to various types of materials and thickness pipes, so it has been widely used.

The manufacturing process of the cold rolled flange is by bending the steel plate into a circle and welding the two ends together to form a ring. This welding method is called girth welding, and it can be manual welding or automatic welding. Cold rolled flanges can be manufactured according to standard sizes, and non-standard size flanges can also be manufactured according to customer needs.

The processing technology of casting cold coiling flange: put the selected raw material steel into the medium frequency electric furnace for smelting, so that the temperature of molten steel reaches 1600-1700℃; The metal mold is pre-heated to 800-900℃ to maintain a constant temperature; Start the centrifuge and inject the molten steel into the preheated metal mold; The casting is naturally cooled to 800-900℃ for 1-10 minutes; Cool with water to close to room temperature, remove the mold and take out the casting.

The advantages of cold rolled flanges include low manufacturing cost, easy manufacturing and installation, good corrosion resistance, and light weight. However, compared with forged flanges, the strength and sealing performance of cold rolled flanges may be slightly worse. Therefore, in some high-pressure or high-temperature applications, it is still necessary to use forged flanges or other more strengthened pipe connections.
