The difference between single and double flanged force transfer joints

We are all familiar with and often see expansion joints and dismantling joints used in equipment in pipelines.

Single flange power transmission joints and double flange power transmission joints are two common installation forms of power transmission joints.

There are many similarities between these two, and there are significant differences between single flange and double flange power transmission joints.

The similarity between the two is that both single flange and double flange power joints are used to connect two pipelines.

The main difference lies in the connection method and strength.

1. The single flange power transmission joint has only one flange plate and is bolted to the pipeline through the flange plate. Usually, it is only suitable for pipelines with smaller pressures or diameters, as the load-bearing capacity of single flange load transfer joints is relatively low.

2. The double flange power transmission joint consists of two flange plates and a metal cone in the middle. The two flange plates are tightened with bolts and compressed with metal cones to achieve a tight connection. Due to the presence of metal cones, the load-bearing capacity of double flange power transmission joints is stronger, making them suitable for some high-pressure and large-diameter pipelines.

Overall, double flange power transmission joints have higher load-bearing capacity and stronger connections, while single flange power transmission joints are suitable for some smaller diameter low-pressure pipelines.

In addition, we also introduce the advantages and disadvantages of two kinds of force transfer joint.

Single Flange Force Transmission Joint Dismantling Joint

Advantages:

1. Easy installation, simple structure, and light weight.

2. Suitable for power transmission systems under high pressure and high vibration conditions.

3. The single flange transmission joint has good sealing performance and long service life.

4. The price is relatively low.

Disadvantages:

1. Limited load-bearing capacity, suitable for smaller transmission power.

2. The reliability is relatively low because there is only one flange point, which cannot fully guarantee the safety of the power transmission system.

Steel Double Flange Detachable dismantling joint Force

Advantages:

1. Stronger load-bearing capacity, suitable for high-power transmission systems.

2. The double flange power transmission joint has a compact structure, which can ensure the stability and safety of the power transmission system.

3. Capable of withstanding higher operating temperatures and pressures, suitable for more complex working conditions.

Disadvantages:

1. Installation is quite complicated and requires two flange connections.

2.Compared to single flange power transmission joints, the price of double flange power transmission joints is relatively higher.

To sum up, the single flange force transfer joint and the double flange force transfer joint have their own advantages and disadvantages in the use process, and the specific use should be selected according to the actual demand.
