The Threaded Flange

Threaded flange refers to a flange connected to the pipe by thread. When designed, it can be treated by loose flange. The advantage is that no welding is required  and the additional torque to the cylinder or pipe is very small when the flange is deformed. The disadvantage is that the flange thickness is large and the cost is higher. It’s suitable for high pressure pipe connection.

Threaded flange is a kind of non-welding flange, which processes the inner hole of the flange into pipe thread and connects with the pipe with thread. Compared with flat welded flange or butt welded flange, threaded flange has the characteristics of easy installation and maintenance, and can be used in some pipelines that are not allowed to be welded on site. Alloy steel flanges have enough strength, but not easy to weld, or poor welding performance, can also choose threaded flanges. However, it is recommended not to use threaded flanges to avoid leakage when the pipe temperature is higher than 260 degree centigrade and lower than -45 degree centigrade.
